less light to control algea

Did you start the tank with dry rock? If so, how long did you cycle/cure it before starting the tank?
I started the tank with dry rock and bacteria in a bottle. Seeded it with about 15 pounds of live rock.

Tank has been up since march 5th.

I have Grow Lights (Sunlight spectrum) only, and the pest algae is mostly vanished.
Get some Competition for the Pest algae.
I have macroalgaes, when the stop growing, most of the time because phosphate is 0, GHA and Cyano start to come back.

It can take a better part of a year for dry rock to be worth anything bacteria-wise. The 15lbs of live will help in this process, but it takes time, a lot more time than people think it does. This is why I hate dry rock for beginning hobbyist, it really works against you.
