Ive always wanted one of these, I think I read something like, the colors dont show up until they are mature polyps? A picture would be nice,if some1 owns a mature polyp!

They don't grow fast at all. The multi color developing takes years. Oh yea if you take a blade to one its dies well in my exp it does.

Ya pretty slow growing I must say.. I bought mine it was a little bigger than a Pencil eraser and know it's the size of a quarter and that has taken like 6 months or so... Good news is I just picked it up to take a look at it and saw a baby on the side like 1/8" or so..:xd:

That's pretty much what I've heard on the couple threads that I've been able to find info on them. It's not your typical mushroom in looks or attitude. Still pretty high on my wish list though...

That one above is 7+ years old. We started counting since it was imported. The last color to came in was the purple. The one i ported has red/orange/lime green/dark green/pink/blue/ then last violate and purpleish. That was the color they came in i was told. Mine only has orange red and lime green, but it looks like it is splitting into two nice quarter size pieces.

Other than growing really slow and not a good candidate for the knife are they pretty hardy? Or are they very sensitive and difficult to care for? Anything different in care from a regular mushroom?

Not a pro at them only have the one lol... But I don't see it being any different or less hardy than a regular shroom... I Wish it would spread like the Normal lol.... I said I would never own another shroom after my first tank when they took over and stung every thing.. These I wouldn't mind if it stung a sps here or there..:xd:
