Ok... here is the deal... it is a surprise for the wife, so don't none of ya tell here:wink:

I picked up a 6gal nano tank for a birthday present for her. I still have a bit of time before I have to get it fully running.

The measurements of the tank are 29"x7"x9.5" or something close to it.

I need a good light that will care for a variety of corals and such.. She loves to watch out DT, but with it being located only in the dinning room, it is hard to see unless you just sit in there.
I wanted to get her a small one since we are always hanging out in the kitchen.

Is there a good light that will not break the bank I can use for this type of tank, or am I better off trying to build my own for the tank? I have about 8-10 inches of space above it then you hit the kitchen cabinets.

The dimensions you listed don't seem to add up to 6 gallons. Either way a long narrow tank like that...check out the BuildMyLED 20k strip light.
