Hey guys , new to the forums . Looking for some stocking ideas on a 65 gallon AIO . Currently no coral but when I get my light situation more permanent am planning on reef , so preferably reef safe

Currently

Fish
-2 designer clowns
-Tiger Pistol / pink spotted goby
-blue eyed tang

Inverts
-4 nassarius snail
- 3 trochus
-emerald crab ❤️
-3 dwarf hermits
- 2 zebra hermits
-strawberry conch

I know the colours / patterns etc really capture people when it comes to saltwater , and I’m obviously not opposed to considerations based on that . But I’m truly looking for personality mostly and compatibility with my inhabitants and tank size .

Also , if anybody experienced can point me towards how much I’m closing in on in terms of maximum bioload ( how many more inhabitants I could safely have ).

Thank you !

A blenny is a good choice, they are so fun. Also you could look into cardnials, dwarf angels, royal gramma, some of the wrasses its really up to you as far as what you want

thanks for the reply !

Honestly the only other fish that I have on my radar based on the small interactions at my LFS are the Midas Blenny .HUGE personality based on what I’ve seen .

Is it only the 2 dwarf angels that are suitable for me ? Coral beauty and flame ?

Any opinions on anything other than the six line wrasse ?

You could do any of the dwarf angels, but keep in mind they can pick at corals, typically fleshy LPS. The only coral I’ve ever had them nip is acans, they left everything else alone. In your case I would lean towards a cherub or flameback since they stay on the smaller side and are generally the most reef safe.

A Midas blend would be a good choice, they have lots of personality.

For wrasses I would recommend a silver belly, they have nice color and are good for pest control since they eat most worms. With those three you’d be pretty close to max stocking, but could round it out with a few smaller gobies, neon gobies are cute and it’s cool to watch them clean other fish!

+1 for the Midas blend. They make a great addition to any tank.

Get a blenny for sure. Hilarious personality. I really liked our six line wrasse in the past. Pretty, active, not aggressive(ours wasn’t anyway) and can help with pest control is you have bristleworms or similar etc. cool fish and don’t get very big.

I like the royal gramma for it's color, but mine has shown a unique personality. Not as bold for the first week or so, but it's coming out of it's shell. I got a Coral Beauty Angel before I knew it was a 50/50 shot of nitpicking coral. It's beautiful and is extremely food motivated. I haven't seen it nitpick at any coral yet, but I think if you feed it well it won't. I personally love my little Banggai Cardinal. It hangs out in one little section since I've got it, but the contrast in it's black and white coloring is so cool! I'm also with the crew and vote midas blenny. I don't have one, but I've seen a lot on the forums and they look like such interesting little dudes ha-ha.

Thank you guys for all the replies !

Ended up getting my Midas Blenny . already doing very well . I know there was a reason these guys captivated me . So so neat .

Went a little different route with my other pick , so now I also have a lemon peel angel ( captive bred , 1”), lots of influence from my wife on that decision . Obviously the risk of nipping corals , but not a huge deal for me if I’m just putting some softies .

Thank you guys again !
