Hello and welcome to the club! Normally I don't like things that aren't live rock in reefs but that's actually pretty cool and would be great covered in coral. Lepto's work well for that type of thing!

Hello!

Long time lurker and finally a new member. I have only had freshwater setups to date and have been researching and planning (plus buying) items to start a salt/reef tank. After the initial costs of all new items, I started to lean toward rehoming an already established tank; I scored. Many of the items listed below came with the tank, I have added a few things since getting it 4 weeks ago.

Equipment: 75-gallon tank, 2 Reef (Nicrew) LED lights, 2 heaters, Marineland internal canister filter, Ton of live rock, The huge pirate ship (grew on me, but going to sell), 2 Wavemakers

Sealife (fish, corals, inverts): 6 coral, 8 fish (2 Mocha clowns, 1 Gold nugget maroon clown, 1 leopard wrasse, 1 watchman Goby, 1 scopas tang, 1 Fiji blue devil damsel, 1 Strawberry basslet), 2 eels (1 snowflake, other unknown - greenish-yellow), 1 blood red shrimp, 1 fire scallop, 25 hermit crab/snail blend

Let me know your thoughts, questions, or even recommendations!!!

Belated Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in Orlando:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
