Macro Algae Owners!!!

I’ve recently switched over into the macro world and notice my red macro starting to gray out or become white. Dying or detritus build up?

Are these signs that it is dying? I believe my tank has more than enough nutrients but I could be mistaken. Maybe it’s flow because they are placed in areas where current isn’t strong. Please

Ph: 8.1
Phosphate: 0.7
Nitrate: 20-25

Definitely looks like some loss of algae. If this is a recently acquired clump, I would not worry. Some ideas for future consideration.

Macro alga can suffer from not enough or too much light. I think the read algae might need less than the greens. Self shading can be a problem for big clumps that don’t tumble. Flow around the algae is important. Trace elements are important for growth, though figuring out whether there is enough is not easy, so you might dose just in case.

Yes! Newly acquired within like 2 weeks ish so that’s probably the case. In addition, flow is definitely another case that I need to improve. Thank you for the heads up!

Macro Update:
Still having a bit of trouble with my macros as they are just slowly dying away bits and pieces. Lost most of the Dragons Tongue, Dragons Breath also has lost orange. However, corals are doing great, flourishing no issues. I definitely have enough nutrients, could it be lighting?
- Nitrate: 10+
- Phosphate: 0.2-0.3
- PH: 8.1
- Dosing 3ml Chaetogrow bi-weekly
- Dosing 1 drop Iodine Bi-weekly

What nutrient requirements should I be looking at?
FEEDBACK AND HELP IS APPRECIATED! THANK YOU

14 Gallon Innovative Marine Peninsula
-7 Months Old
- Seeded w/ Hawaiian Black Sand, Live Marshall Island / Fiji Rocks.
- Homemade Phyto + Copepod Culture dosing weekly
