Merging Dragons

Does/has anyone placed a Green Dragon and a Red Dragon coral close enough to each other to have them grow/graft/merge together? I would assume that since the two are from the same family that they wouldn't sting but would graft. Anyone have 1st hand experience? Seems like it would create an awesome looking animal.

I've never heard of the green dragon before, but it looks like they are both acropora carduus... so I don't see why they couldn't be grafted?

I think it could happen as well after seeing the article you posted earlier. As long as they are the same species, I think the possibility is there.

JKR Rainbow is a grafted coral. It is one of the few that has a uniform coloration and formation after the graft.

Joe Knows Reefs. Look on the reeffarmers web site. You can see a photo of the original graft - second photo down (IIRC) shows two different species that were grafted... kinda cool.

Yes, as @ngoodermuth stated, pretty sure both are acropora carduus. I have about a 3" piece of the green and have access to the red color morph. Was just contemplating trying to get them to graft, didn't know if anyone else had given it a try.

I will do that. Should be able to get the red frag Saturday. It's coming out of a friends DT so I can take readings on what the current light parameters are, should match up pretty closely with those of my green. Then it's up to mother nature!!
