Random photo of a little smudge of brown algae I wiped off the glass at 400X. Mostly diatoms and dinos unfortunately (I think) but it is a pretty picture!

Diatoms, Ostreopsis, Amphidinium, and some Foraminifera in the center I would say if I had to guess. Actually something you will see quite often. Diatoms and dinos can live side by side quite well in many cases which is why I assume silicate dosing is only effective if the diatoms actually manage to absolutely smother the dinos.
