I have a Duncan that is around 12 years old and has been fragged countless times. It was my first coral - just one head - and continues to thrive and expand. It has gotten big enough that it is blocking the view on a good quarter of the tank so I decided to try and frag some of today to reduce size. Unfortunately I wasn't properly prepared for how think and strong the stalks have become.

I just wanted to share what it looks like out of the water. This is it sitting on a standard 12" bucket lid. It is massive and heavy.

..and this is it in the corner of my tank from last year.

Does anyone else have a long lived Duncan that they love?

I love my Duncan. It's not half the size of yours, but it was one of my 1st corals. It has about 40 heads now. Started with just a few three years ago. The Hammer is about the size of a basketball.

Last weekend, I picked up 2 new Duncan’s as I missed having them.
My oldest one I’ve kept was 4-5 years old but I lost it last year to Aquilonastra Starfish.

I wasn't aware they were susceptible to Aquilonastra. Glad you were able to get some new ones. I certainly have a soft spot for them since it was my first coral.

Had it for 5 years. Unfortunately I keep killing it, but luckily it keeps growing back.
Aiptasia tried to kill it.
Next my peppermint shrimps ate it once they cleaned up the Aiptasia.
Next my orange Yuma tried to grow on it.
Now my file fish is feasting on it…
Resilient coral….

Wow. That is one unlucky, yet tough coral.

My Duncan separated to two color morphs, one green and one dull brownish white. This pic however is under sunlight

Wow. I cant tell by the pic, is the colony all one piece and turned two different colors? Any other corals have a color shift?
