I received a chalice, named "The Mother Load", 2 weeks ago and it looked good out of the box. But after a few days it's starting to fade/whiten on the edges. My levels are all in check, Ca 425 Kh 10 and 0 for all the bad stuff. I have a 29g Biocube and am running the stock PCs. It started at about mid tank is now on the sand, I read this can be caused by too much light. But with PC's really? My Death Star Chalice from the same order is very happy and already has a new eye.

Any ideas? It doesn't look like it has any eyes does that matter. I'm surprised it didn't have any.

Thanks

When I first go it, I'll try to get a pic later with the fading:

It could be shocked from the new lights. Best bet is to put them in a shaded area for the first few days and then slowly move them into the light on the sand bed (at least that's what I do). It could also be wild and these tend to be hit or miss when acclimating to your tank. It's why I mostly stay away from new chalices and stick with one's with lineage. Good luck with yours.

Probably not the cause but what is your Mg? I have noticed my chalices do much better when I keep my Mg. closer to 1500.

Relevant question, my mag is 1600. Some times it runs a bit higher as I use NSW, which runs ~1500 - 1800.
