So first things first I would like to apologise for what you're about to read as I'm not proud of it. but I've not been keeping regular maintance on my tank, I've been doing my RO top up but neglected my water changes.
I set my tank up in November 2021 and I loved it, then my dad passed away and from there I sort of tried to keep interested in the tank but it slipped and slipped further and further away for regular maintance, every so often I do the water change and clean the glass so it's not abysmal but its not good for the fish. Luckily my 2 clowns and fox face and tuxedo urchin have been troopers and kept going strong. I tried before to get back into the hobby by buying a clam (Before the tank got too neglected and was still healthy) but after 3-4 months it was growing beautifully (I still have his shell on my shelf) then without researching I bought a pistol shrimp and needless to say the clam kept getting buried and died and that sort of marked the end for the time being of my interest

So my goal in this post is to try and create a road map/update thread to keep track on what I'm doing and check in with people so that I don't forget to keep on top of it. Once I get back into the habit we'll be cooking again.
The end game is to get another Derasa clam as I absolutely love them.

First 2 weeks so from Aug 11th-25th it's mainly just going to be water changes to get my parameters back into a decent bracket. So I'll need to order new test kits mainly Nitrate, Alk, calcium, PH, and magnesium as the main ones. Ammonia and Nitrite shouldn't be needed as the tank is still healthy in the bio filter sense (I mean there's 3 fish and a Kenya tree all are looking healthy)
I'm going to be buying a Reverse osmosis filter and make my own Salt water and RO water as the slog to the fish shop is no longer worth it in the long run as they no longer sell Marine fish so it's a detour every week or 2 to get water and if I'm busy and cant go it causes issues when I run out in the middle of the week

During the water changes and getting the parameters back in check I'll need to get rid of the bristle worms that are taking over quite a bit whether it be manual removal or get something that will eat them, but most likely manual removal as most fish that have a use in the tank usually hate corals...

I think that'll do for the moment as its currently a fair amount to do even though it doesn't seem much when written down

A lot of us have been in your shoes, so you don’t have to apologize! This is a hobby where interest, time, and life challenges get in the way.
There is a forum here dedicated to journaling your tank journey if you would like to start one. Many of us keep track of our tanks there! And you can get a nifty “My tank Thread” badge too.

Too be fair I never thought of putting this on my build thread.
I'll move it over there to keep it updated
