So I have been thinning out the tank.. removed eight corals from sand bed this week, one of the trumpets was moved to top of my rock work, five frags moved to a rack and two corals moved to another tank.

I was hoping one of the internet vendors would do a series comparing old school equipment and results to new and seeing the difference.

I have an old blueline wave maker if someone needs it for the old school build.

I like the moves. Gives it a more natural look with more sand showing. Gorgeous as always sir.

Thanks for stopping by.. this tank although old school at heart is pretty high tech at this point . T5 hybrid, all DC equipment, controller, doser, ATO etc..

I do have a biocube that 100% old school.. no testing, no water changes and no additives at all.. back chamber is full of old school plastic bioballs and a little carbon but no prefilter.

I know right? lol.. Had my share of bigger tanks, do miss my tangs but not the cost and maintenance involved. Im anticipating moving in the not to distant future so may consider another big tank at that point but it would be built around ease of maintenance and probably back up to a dedicated fish room.

Thanks man, it doesn't get much love.. lol it's been a fantastic no drama tank thats not had a single issue in almost 5 years! No algae, no uglies, no pest, no nothing.. I guess the no testing, no maintenance and no water changes is paying off ;Hilarious

My favorite piece is the neon leather.. thought about moving it to my breeder but it's the center piece of the tank so it's staying Not much bigger than a golf ball when I got it, now it stretches out the size of a dinner plate..
