i have a pink tip anemone like, it used to be a pretty decent sized anemone, but now its pretty tiny, the tank also has several hermits, a cleaner shrimp, some snails, 3 emerald crabs, 2 diffrent macro's and some corals.

the perametrs all look fine to me

ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 8
phos: 0.30

the par wher i currently have it is about 350

currently cause it is so small i have it confined in this contianer, the current at this point is strong enough to knock it off of the rocks.

I suspect this tank is new and too new for an anemone. Phosphate may be high as tank is going through changes in chemistry

actually the tank is almost 3 years old, the anemone has been in the tank for 8 months, it was fine tell a light fixture failed, and the anemone started shrinking while i was waiting on the new light, but one i put the new light up it did not improve. i should have included this in my post but it sliped my mind its been a busy day

My opinion is that 350 par is too much for a nem, you’re blasting it with light and it has nowhere to retreat.

you might want to read my post, if you did you would know why its in that spot and that its there cause it was having issues....
and on top of that might want to learn more about this type of nem, its par range is 220–350

i will let it out of the container when i know its not going to die in my tank

1. Horrible attitude with the response.

2. Don’t ask for advice if you don’t want to hear any

3. If you’re “sure it’s going to die” just take it out and dispose of it now

not horrible attitude just dont see why you would reply without first reading the post. but what ever thats your choice, feel free to avoid my posts if you dont like having to read before typing.

i will never understand why ppl read the end of a post and think they know it all and post a reply that in the end makes them look like they didnt even try.

i am looking for help please, im not trying to give attitude just not a fan of those who dont read and post any ways.

If the only change was the light then the period of time between losing the light and acclimating to the new light was probably too much of a shock.

I don’t know what it looked like before but a healthy condi should be a nice opaque light tan with really pink tips. If the flesh was near white or slightly translucent then it was bleaching and was already unhealthy.

I always see these at a Petco near me and they are always white — to the point that the team person there thinks that’s the color it should be. 😵‍💫

yeah i know, and in fact i got mine at petco and it was bleached, when i changed my light it was not bleached, it was a nice tan with really pink tips, right now its still other then its size looks mostly healthly to me, tan colors, really pink tips still to this day, one of the reasons i traped it other then it getting throw around by water flow was i read clown fish can make it shrink like that by harassing it to much, not sure how accurate that is, but its 1 of the reasons, other then keeping it in a safe place and being able to see it in case it dies.

at this time its mouth when you can see it is not protruding in any ways or gaping, its closed up and looks normal, just aprears to have shrinkage for lack of a better way of saying it,

update: just did a test with the seachem multitest and it says

ph: 8.2
alkalinity: 4meq/L (i think is around 11.2 dKH)

Just my opinion, but when Condylactis have bleached and then shrunk like this, I've always found that you cannot turn them around. They've expelled their zooxanthellae and adding more light doesn't bring those back.

I find that bubble tips are hardier overall.

If you plan on reducing the par It might take a few days to notice a change for an anemone, as they have to reacclimate to new lighting (Mine would always be angry if I changed the intensity on my light)

it was bleached when i bought it, not when all this started, this started 2 months ago, i have had the nem for 8 months, yes it was originaly bleached, but it did recover under my light that failed, my new light is much stronger, so i have to hang it higher then my last light.

as for BTA i would love to have a BTA but currently my only option has been petco and i wont grab just any random nem, on top of that the only time i do buy nems from petco is when they first get them in, i know the manager, she lets me take the bags with them in it and buy them before they start acclimating to there tanks so they dont get extra stress of being moved to soon. that said i have had BTA issues every time i get one it starts out good for a few days puffs up extends its tenticles but then all of sudden becomes angry then starts stressing out and gaping then dies, now this could be the nems being bad quality as i am stuck with petco and fully expect 99% of there nems to not make it, and considering what i have seen in there tank with there strugle to keep them alive long enough to sell, its not hard to see why they dont make it.

i will get a BTA again but i am waiting tell i get a skimmer for the tank, then i am going to look into finding a nice rbta on ebay unless someone else here wants to sell one and offers me a better deal then i found on ebay.

this happened to my LTA...I actually bright it back by target feeding but it took almost 2 months
this guy sat in one place shrinking tell i fed it, when i fed it i guess it got a burst of go power and decided to run around thats when i ended up traping it cause of currennt being to strong for such a small dude

i do plan on feeding it more once it at least figures out a spot and is not upside down lol, right now its moving our its tiny home picking a spot after i moved it to lower lighting.

well it was staying upside down like ti wanted away from the light when it was in the 350 par spot, now it has 130 par and is moving around its enclosure trying to pick a spot, as its container has low flow it might not settle on a spot, i may need to put more holes in the container, i made it out of a old jumping spider house lol
