Hello
I just recently purchased a mated pair of storm trooper clown fish.... And I have a beautiful
Purple tip anemone but they wont host it :( hey host each other and dance all over my tank together but not even a second look at the lonely anemone. Is there anything I can do to help them figure out how to host or are they like real storm troopers just indefinitely missing the target?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks PherFox

How long is just purchased?
it takes time they can also host other things or just areas of the tank and can change their minds as they see fit. It took my clowns 1 month to host a torch then a month later never touched it again
Give them time

2 days so very recently. I'm feeling very deflated about it because my boyfriend has a 100g salt and his 2 maroons immediately hosted his brand new purple tip in fact poor thing might need a restraining order against the big 4 inch female whose loving the crap outta it.

It just takes time many clowns may never seen an anemone as they are aqua cultured so it’s 100% on instinct

Your anemone is not a natural host for those clowns. They probably will go into it at some point though. If you had a magnifica they’d likely go in it almost right away.

What kind of anemone do you have? Purple tip isn’t really a type. If you mean it’s a condylactis then they may never go in because they are not a hosting anemone.

My camera does him no justice

That looks a lot like a Condylactis, which is typically not a hosting species.

Tell that to baby ocellaris and percula that IMMEDIATELY dive into both S. gigantea and H. magnifica when first introduced -- literally seconds!

A natural host anemone makes a world of difference, and it doesn't matter if the clowns are wild caught or aquacultured.
