I don't know how I feel about that, obviously they tested this extensively but I think you could get away with 2 times a day. I hope there isn't a money grab associated.
During the first part of beta testing, we could basically run the Trident however we wanted to, in terms of frequency of testing and whether each test would be alk only or a triple test.
Based on those tests, the Neptune team determined that 4 alternating tests a day would give consistent and accurate results, whereas random or occasional testing might not.
It's not just a matter of keeping sample and reagent tubes unclogged. Don't forget that the Trident requires no RODI rinse, as some other machines do, which is convenient.
But on the flipside, if residual reagent dries out in a line or in the testing cuvette, this could affect future test results.
