I’ll post a picture of the coral in question. It came with the tank and was hanging on by a baby thread. I figured it was dead, to be honest. Got the aquarium home and set back up and everything is looking muuuuuch better it’s almost twice the size it was when I moved it. Just need a name and any care advice I can get, still new to the hobby, I just want to give him the best life possible. Thanks!

Some kind of Xenia.
+1 xenia. Looks like something is encrusting on the plug that it’s on too.

For xenia, moderate lighting and flow and it’ll do fine. Some people consider them a weed as they grow rather quickly.

Thank you all! Beings that it’s a fast grower and considered a weed to some people, is it going to take over my tank to the point that I won’t even be able to frag it out to people because no one wants it?

Short answer is no. After your tank starts to get well-stocked and where you want it (which takes forever) then the xenia decides to start showing up everywhere. Don’t worry. It’s not invasive on an extreme level. And you can always cut it away.

Cespitularia. Very fast grower...
I agree with cespitularia. It’s a beautiful soft coral.

I would isolate it to a single rock though to have the ability to contain it if necessary

Should I move the rock now? will it push other coral out of the way? Like, will it be an aggressive coral?

It can overgrow other corals due to the speed of growth. I personally love the way it flows and have it in a few tanks, I just keep it on its own little island. When it grows off the island, I frag that and carry to the LFS for store credit.
