Need help with my BK skimmer!

So I woke up to the awful niose of my bk skimmer turning off and then on. It seems like no matter what outlet its in, when its plugged in it turns off and then on. only staying on for about 5 seconds then shutting off for five then back on. Does any one have a idea whats wrong with my skimmer? Or have BK CS number or email?

Sounds like the pump is cavitating... Have you removed it and checked for any obstructions in the impeller??? To much head pressure would also cause this but not in your case because I'm positive it's prolly stock... I would check for a snail or something in the Venturi or impeller.... Worst case maybe a bearing on the shaft has went south...

I just took the pump apart and cleaned it, What would be the next step? Its turning on and off faster now it seems but its still turning off and on the like two seconds.

Hmmm when you pulled the impeller out did the front bearing feel sloppy inside the disc???? Take a flash light and look inside the impeller hole of the motor and check if the rear bearing looks okay.... Lagunas "askoll" do have bearings that wear out in a hurry when the pump is modded for a skimmer but I know bk supposedly upgrades them to ceramic bearings or something similiar... Not positive if they do or not since I never owned one but I have built numerous askoll pumps the same exact thing as a red dragon, same motor, impeller etc just a tad different volute.... Let me see if I have ond pics of the bearings I'm talking about, I used to go through them like crazy when I would over do the mesh impeller or oversized volute....

Man I can't find any... I know I had some guess I didn't upload them to pb... If the front bearing is gone your best bet would be buy a whole new impeller from bk it will already be installed... The rear bearing is pretty simple to change if bk sells them.... That's about the only thing it would be honestly are the bearings IMHO..... Motors don't really go bad from my exp.

Holy crap I just looked it up there 210 lol What exactly is the front bearing? I would hate to order this and it not be it.

what a rip off!!!!!! you could get a stock one from hagen it's like $50 but you need to cut the stock impeller off and press that pin wheel on......or your best bet would be vic over at atb he should have some in stock with the pinwheel or mesh etc.... luke might even have the swc one in stock there all the same thing same pump just different needle wheel design and different volute measurements but the motors are identical....
the bearing is right behind that disc in between the disc and magnet there is a little needle bearing a little slop is okay but if it's real wobbly the disc it's self you might want to get a new one.....

Sounds like your pump took a dump. Mine did at the first of the year and it took three months to get a replacment. Was not happy.

I did this morning and im waiting for a call back on them and a few other company's. I might just end up eating the bullet and buy a hole new impeller and pump because no one knows what's wrong. Every one is giving the run around it seems.

It sounds normal nothing weird. I turned it on and put my hand near the outlet it almost pulses then shuts out. Resembles a Vortech on reefcrest ramps up then dies. There has been a few times where it doesnt turn back on how when i try it. I would hate to have to replace the hole thing because its about half the price of a new skimmer.

take the pump off the skimmer and see if it starts without the head pressure..

Nope all that info was with the pump off.

it has to be then man you need bearings... not sure if you have a temporary skimmer to run but vic over at atb rebuilds them....
