I have a healthy neon candy cane colony, but past two weeks this side of the colony seems to be melting/drooping babies down. Has anyone experienced this themselves and is this expected? I have had this colony for 2+ years now and usually just frag off a branch or two when it grows too large.

I've not seen that before. Mine have always grown new heads not dropped them. I always assumed they need the skeleton to survive and dropping heads would be similar to a torch that has heads bail. I'm far from an expert tho so let's see what others have to say. Mine have never drooped away from the skeleton like yours.

Looks like it to me. Idk how fast or slow this happens. I'm still staggering under the revelation that it does!

Updated photo. Anyone know if this is spawning or something bad? It's been progressing like this for weeks.

If its spawning I'm thinking of putting a rock under it to catch the spawn maybe?

It's a good idea. I was thinking of the same thing. My has fragments of skeleton in the droppings.
Yeah, I've got room and an available rock, so I'm going to do it. I can't tell what's in the my candy cane's drooping. We'll see tho!
