i’m in the market for a new aquarium. Ive had my 72x18x30 glass with 2 plastic overflows for 21 years. I have it aquascaped in the pile of rocks against the back glass style because the 18’’ dimension still has corals pushed up against the front glass. this was my first aquarium and ive learned a lot. It’s pretty scratched up because I did’nt know any better. I am trying to decide between the Waterbox infinia peninsula 72.3 x25.3 x 23.6 $5,549 or Red Sea reefer s-950 g3 peninsula 78.7 x 26.8 x 25.6 at $7,799 or innovative marine ext or int 200 peninsula 70.9 x 30 x 21.7 at $3,942.

Google "Red Sea Reefer problems" for some information. I have no personal experience with RSR or Waterbox, both of my 150g glass tanks are Crystal Dynamics.

I had a Glass house aquarium. Loved it. None of the new clearer softer glass for me ever again. And they will build it how you want it. Take everything you like about the above tanks and have them make it for you. I would go regular glass to reduce scratches.

I have an exterior IM 100 gallon now. Scratches way easier. And the sump takes up all the space under the tank. The stands doors don't line up nicely. But still a nice stand.

Had an older Red Sea. Loved how it was made then. Have talked with to many folks with the newer ones and the disasters they experienced.
I tiled under my tank. Love the finished look it gives the tank.

Waterbox or my personal preference, the IM especially because of the stand design. Red Sea definitely not a consideration.

Best option yet is custom from Glass Cages.
I did a build on glasscages website and was well over $12,000. So for me that was too much. Im concerned that the Waterbox is a rimless tank vs the other two are eurobraced?

I have a rimless now. Love the sleek look. But honestly I liked the rim better. Kept the water in the tank when cleaning. Euro brace would be great also.

Valid point, I'm not familiar with the water boxes, just assumed their larger tanks would be eurobraced. IM is top notch with good customer service if that helps and doesn't have as bad delays as water box does.

I’m am considering a large tank as well. Does eurobracing add strength to the tank? Are there stand options out there? I’d love to get one where all the panels are removable.

My current IM is an external overflow. Another point of contention with me. I will post a photo below. The back is glass, but has an overlay on top of it. Some softer black material. It allows the overflow to be cut into it and not the glass. I didn't know this when I ordered it. I heard they improved it. But there were issues of it coming apart and leaking at the overflow.

Out if the three listed I would go with the IM with an external overflow. More room vs the INT. I would never go rimless on a tank that size and it's eurobraced where the WB isn't. I'm a member of the redsea failure club so I wouldn't take one for free if offered.

You can see how thin it becomes at the point of the overflow. Since the glass does not extend to this area.

So sorry for the tank failure. That is awful. I had an older one and loved it. Can't understand why they destroyed their reputation and caused and continue to cause these losses. Replacing a tank does nothing to mitigate the losses and work ones goes through when this happens.

My friends burst and she loss everything. Their beautiful wooden floor was also ruined. She got out of the hobby.

Maybe take a look at the eshopps mariner series and see if they have one in a size that works. I've been seeing a lot of positive feedback on them. I actually had one ordered to replace my second failing RS but some stuff came up and I had to cancel.

Forgot to mention this one, it's gaining popularity and seems to be a good option as well. I think they were touting thicker glass than the other manufacturers as well.

Take a look at the UNS R180. The UNS systems look top notch. I would likely go with them if I had the opportunity to get a new tank. I actually got a new tank a few weeks ago: My RedSea 525 G2 and as replaced under warranty with a 525 G3. I like the Eurobrace since it provides a spot to lay light objects when doing maintenance and significantly reduces the occasional splashing from the livestock or during maintenance.

In addition to thicker glass I think they come standard with bottom bracing and the peninsula all have aluminum framed stands IIRC

Not here to bash any manufacturers, but for those that had Redsea failures were any of those tanks eurobraced? The fact that the tank I’m considering is eurobraced makes me more confident.

Not myself but you'll find plenty of their large euro braced tanks failed on here and YouTube. Silicone type and curing time is their issue. No amount of bracing will help their tanks imo
