I picked up a foxface last week and he eats like a champ. Flakes, pellets, mysis/bloodworms. He figured out the algae clip, too, and gets a little nori every day. QT tank parameters are good, considering it's only been set up 10 days and was seeded with a bag of ceramic media from another tank. I dribble Stability in there to help it out for a bit.

Ammonia 0.2 (coming down post water change)
pH 8.0
Nitrite 0.05
Nitrate 1.0
Salinity 1.023 (slowly bringing it up- LFS keeps theirs at 1.021)
Temp 78

My question concerns his coloration and thin appearance. I tried to take a couple pics, but they're a bit blurry- major shutter delay on my phone. I know foxfaces change color based on moods and such, but when I bought him, he was a bright sunflower yellow. Now his default color is noticeably paler. However, I see no skin blemishes, and he's not flashing or swimming into the powerhead. He does occasionally rest briefly on the bottom, though. Normal? And it might be my imagination, but he almost seems thinner than last week. Since he eats with vigor but is still thin, should I hit him with prazipro first? I was planning to do CP first and then prazi, but if he's wormy, I should take care of that before worrying about anything else, correct? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds exactly like my foxface experience. Mine came in thin, but not sickly looking.

Mine eats pellets like a champ but won’t touch mysis or my homemade live blend.

I have kept a 1/4 sheet of nori in the tank every other day since I got him about 2 months ago. He has fattened up well and getting more steady with the bright yellow coloring, although he is still pale here and there throughout the day.

He is also growing faster than any fish I have ever had.

I’m not a disease expert, but I don’t think you have a disease issue. But please don’t take my word on it.

Your description is perfectly normal. He/she is just getting used to new surroundings. Mine is going on 2 years old, fought relentlessly with powder brown tang and now is bigger than a filet sandwich. Feed it Nori once a week and Seaweed Extreme pellets daily
