What did you rinse them in? If you used tap water, you can damage the good bacteria they are there to house. Those are your biological filters and should be handled carefully. Blow off, rinse in saltwater. Carbon is fine to replace as needed though. Just make sure to run water through the carbon prior to putting it in the tank (if in reactor, rinse bag if that method is what you use).
Can you share them please?Parameters Seem fine. No change in those except for the phosphate seems high at 2. Though I’ve not checked that before except for this last week.
Manually pulling and removing the hair algae will also remove some nutrients with it .I rinsed it all in tap water. I have a phosphate reading of 2 so wanted to try and reduce this. After googling the problem I found somewhere saying to use the Rx which would also remove the green hair algae but I think that has nothing to do with phosphate reduction does it?
