I'll have to let the experts chime in on this one. Sea horses are way too involved and are way too hard for me to get into.

From my experience you need to set up a species tank, with things they can attach to like gorgonians or see fans, they are lazy feeders so you need to target feed them. You don't want much motion so personally I don't think a wave maker would be a good idea unless the pumps were really really low gph. Just things I learned while working at an aquarium store years ago maybe things have changed some, but we would only order them in for experienced aquarisist.
