Newbie Dipping Their Toes In

Hi all, newbie from New Zealand here. I've been considering a reef tank for a while now, then got gifted a free 20 gal tank from a neighbour and figured that was as good an excuse as any.

The tank is sumpless and previously freshwater, so my plan for now is to set up a simple tank with a fire goby, possibly also a cleaner shrimp and some hardy beginner corals, with HOB equipment and then transitioning it into a quarantine tank when I end up upgrading to a larger tank.

I'm eager for any advice y'all have for me, and I'm sure I will be asking plenty of questions on my journey :)
