So the whole black friday thing ends after tonight presumably. So, the Apex that i’m looking at for over $500 will be $100 more expensive by tomorrow. Same for the hydros.

I can’t and won’t make a decision until I continue to try to understand IF I need something in a controller and what controller I need. So, does anyone know if there will be similar end of year sales that match the black friday stuff?

I want to dim my lights, be able to shut off a skimmer, have my inkbird controlled, and remotely monitor ph and temp. Maybe down the road do the dosing stuff but that isn’t important to me now. I honestly don’t know what I will want or need in the future.

My Apex has made more time for me. I was testing, monitoring and dosing quite a bit while my tank was in early stages. I have kids and a job but also love reefing. My new tank will have auto water change controlled by apex. That will add more time in my life. I do enjoy the maintenance side of reefing but I also lack time for everything. To me the Apex is definitely worth it just to gain time. I’m not sure about sales. I’d imagine you’ll see another.

Apex is amazing. From a time stand point. I can click off my return pump and then all the necessary equipment stops. I then when ready start the return pump and all my equipment is delayed a few minutes. It tests, all, ca, mag, ph and monitors my temp. It runs my avast marine feeder.

It takes away my everyday tasks so that the tank just hums and runs on its own. Apex is awesome. I have the doses too so all my dosing is automated as well.

The only time I touch the tank is for once a week water change.

I bit the bullet and got the non-pro model. I am nervous that the setup will be difficult.

I haven't bought into trident thing yet, based on money alone, but im sure i'll get there.

Nothing is truly automated. You still have to scrape glass, occasionally brush algae etc.

Apex setup isn't difficult at all. There is a learning curve like anything new but they have TASKS for 99% of what you will want to do. You just answer simple questions and it does it all for you.

If you truly get stuck, the Neptune user group is awesome and most can write you code in a couple minutes. There are even websites that write code now
