Finally starting to come together little by little. I do have a question about dosing though. Does anyone recommend an automatic doser or prefer to manually do it? And if you prefer automatic what product do you recommend? And my other question does anyone have a preference on dosing products individually or kinda an all on one like (All for reef)
Been cleaning off any algae on the rocks little by little so don't mind that lol, checked my levels yesterday and everything's where it should be.

I am a fan of AFR. I’ve used it for almost 4 years now. I have previously used every other common supplement method, and for a small tank, all-for-reef is really a great choice.

I am away from my tank for long periods, so everything I dose is via dosing pump. Dosing manually is fine for a supplement like AFR, but like to automate everything.

Was it easy to set up? And thank you!

Pretty simple.

To use AFR, I suggest a good alkalinity test kit or Hanna checker. Alkalinity consumption is the best way to dial in your dose.

If you can, start dosing manually each day and testing every few days to get started.

You can decided if you want to add a dosing pump. There are tons of choices on dosing pumps. I like the BRS1.1 doser and a digital timer.

I also use and would suggest All For Reef, it's a good product, and easy to use since it's just one product you're dosing.

I'll just add that when you have a new tank with just a few frags and not much for coralline algae yet, you shouldn't have a lot of demand for Alk/Calk/Mag, and for that reason you may not have to dose anything at all, at least not until your tank is seeing more growth from stoney corals and/or coralline algae. For now, regular partial water changes may keep these parameters in line just fine 🙂

I hope that helps and good luck!

I have ran afr before and it works well. However, I prefer esv 2 part.
My 5 month old IM 15g is run with 2 kamoer dosing pumps. Simple and very easy to maintain and adjust.
I run trace in my ato and a bag of carbon with filter floss in the overflow. That's it.
