So... I had the sps dominant drop off thread going till it sold. So now we are moving to a new place and I’m able to do another tank. I’m acquiring a tank I built for someone back and will be setting it up as my upgrade.

Tank- 36x20x18
Sump- 25g
Return pump- unknown atm
Lights- tek 6 bulb t5ho (bulb combo to be determined)
Flow- 2x jebao rw8 wavemakers


Here is a pic of the tank. And some pics of what’s going to be going in it. Not close to everything but mostly zoas atm till I can afford my want list for sps.

Definitely getting more excited as it gets closer to Sunday. If Sunday doesn’t work for me to pick up the setup I’ll have to wait till September Ian for it. So might be a slight delay.
But here she is again.

Got her finally!

She’s setup and running now. Just needs to run its cycle course. I added a bottle of stability to help, added live rock, and only thing I didn’t add yet is an ammonia source.

Well dealing with a green slime algae outbreak. Treating the tank with cyano x in hopes it subsides. Fingers crossed lol

Made myself an arch to add to the tank. Added some of my coral from a buddy who was holding em for me and picked up a tenuis to cook up and see where it goes colour wise.

Went from 4actinic, 1 blue plus and a Red Sea pink

To 3 actinic, 2 blue plus, a purple plus

Well I got ich and Dino all of a sudden. Probably from the ca and alk swings I was having. I’ve since removed the sandbed. Lost most of he fish due to the ich. Lost zero corals so far from Dino but it’s going. Hopefully the sandbed was the problem and it goes away. If that’s the case I’ll forward my findings to the threads in the group.

After dosing peroxide for 2 weeks

Was dosing 20ml/25g of water everyday for 2 weeks Ish. And then let it settle. Man was I impressed with the effects it had on the algae and not coral or fish.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DOSE PEROXIDE FOR DINOFLAGELLATES

Sadly had to shut this project down and downsize so I’m down to a nuvo20 now
