I was at Seamax this weekend and bought a killer Orange Sherbert mini colony for $40. The vendor had lots of nice Chalices, it was awesome, I could have bought the original Orengi mother colony for $250.

how is that when frags sell for more? The original one that Ktar has/had?

I was told yesterday that by wholesaler who originated it that he would sell what is left of his colony, which is only like 2.5" that he would sell it. I saw the colony right there in the tank before my eyes. He also had a 3/4" frag that he was selling for $100. He showed me it with both daylight and blue lighting and it looked like the real deal to me.

Oh ok that clears it up lol. Any pics? I thought the original orenji cam from ktar?

Their are a TON of orange chalices out there now, but the true orenji is the only to get that crazy blue to it that Ive seen.

I think Skinz is saying,he was talking to the person who sold ktar his colony that was later named Orenji. Correct me if im wrong Skinz.

No Kelby I saw what was a part of the original colony of Orengi. Sadly I didn't get any pic's of it. The wholesaler is semi local to me though.

lol never mind a $100 frag, whats up with the $250 colony. Something tells me it might not be the actual orenji seeing as Ktar is east coast and skinz is in WA.

I should have gotten pic's of it. I know it did have blue in it. When he was telling me about it I was digging in my wallet to pay for the Orange Sherbert. After this weekend I will try to contact them and see if they still have it and see if they'll send me a pic or two.

I'm gonna split these posts out of the show off thread since it got a bit off topic, I'll make a new thread with them.

If it was real deal, you should have fell on it. I got my frag from Kien and it is the SLOWEST growing thing in my tank.

I never could get anyone to get some pic's at the show, I forgot about contacting the vendor about it. I'll do that now.

i saw the same colony while i was there and also picked up one of those sweet sherbert colonies, maybe we should go in on it together chris :)

I've sent the owner a message on it and sure if you are game I am game as long as it is the real deal.

The original colony was owned by Er1c the Reefer and was sold to sps4mytank(Jay). It was purchased form a So Cal. LFS.

Unfortunately the colony was lost when Jay went to the Phillipines for a month vacation.

I highly doubt it was from the original colony..
