hello all,

i was hoping to get some guidance. i have an IceCap AIO 45 gallon. I’m going crazy trying to find a place to put my ORP and pH probe. the tank has a 5 chamber area in the back. the set up right now looks like this: [media basket] -> [skimmer] -> [return pump] <- [UV sterilizer+heater] <- [media basket]. at first i had my pH and ORP probes in the return chamber but that’s where i’m planning to dose and it’s so small that i figured it wouldn’t work out. so i decided to move my ORP probe next to the skimmer but then i realized about the micro bubbles and at this point im debating wether to put it in the DT or idk. right now i have it placed in the baffle between the skimmer and the return pump but im not sure if that’s a good idea and if im going to get accurate readings. any suggestions?

Thank you!!

Maybe dose into the display and free up that chamber? I manually dose tanks with ESV 2 part and ARF and I pour it into the DT in a high flow area. I've done it that way for years and it works fine. Would probably also be fine dosing into the return chamber. I have an NPS tank that I dose phyto into the return chamber every hour 24/7.

I currently have all my GHL probes in the return pump section.
Pros:
- No bubbles
- No light which would accelerate growth of unwanted matter on the probes

Cons:
- Temperature probe after the heater kind of sucks
- Hard to reach spot
- If I have to stop my return pump the water flowing back can still cause bubbles which accumulate on the probes. I give them a little shake afterwards and they are reading fine again.

There is always something. No matter where you put them.

Put the probes in the return and dose into the tank.
I dose into the aio but could easily set it up to dose in the tank.

I have my temp probe attached to the return in the tank.
