I keep a hammer in my tank to dose iron and scare away any parasites.

I have a magnet somewhere in my sump. Can't find the darn thing anywhere! Wonder if it corroded and magically disappeared!!

I like the idea of a hammer, but with ich and velvet nowadays I think a chainsaw would be better. [emoji12]

This works great for drip acclimation

I agree on this one. I use this little drip acclimation kit that also has a rigid hook for attaching over the edge of your tank. VERY HANDY!

I would never just throw food in my tank. Everything gets target fed from the hermit crabs, clingfish, shrimp, anemone crabs to the "normal" fish. Mandarins get their feeder filled, new born brine shrimp get sucked out of their hatchery to the feeder and bristle worms (when they get to big) get a ride down the drain

Niiice... Manufacturer/source?...

Plastic gloves, pipettes, zip ties, straws, measuring cups and spoons, floor dryers, lasers? It doesn't even sound like were talking about reef tanks! Yeah, we definitely just confused and scared the ones just inquiring about starting a reef tank:cool::D

Plastic gloves? Is there any problem using vinyl dishwashing type gloves?

To save time, I brush my teeth with tank water and when I am finished I clean my powerheads with the same brush. Then I spit in the water to dose calcium.

Don't think so. I'd just rinse out the inside of them since. Some have some sort of powder inside them and might get in tank. Perfectly fine out of tank. Another good recommendation!

These bottles come in very handy for a lot of uses....89 cents at WAlMart... I graduate them then use them as containers for dosing....For cleaning with vinegar...for filling vials for water testing...very handy

Here are a couple of DIY devices that make probe calibration and doser calibration much easier for me....I made them out of acrylic...easy to do
