Greetings,
Over the past week or so I’ve noticed a few of the branches of one of my pectinias developing blade like protrusions. I realize this is the skeleton, but I’m wondering if this is new growth or is the flesh receding? It does not appear to me as of the flesh is receding. The coral and is mouths look content. It is regularly inflated. I sensors is sweepers out at night. And it poops regularly. This is the same pectinia that had a branch break a long while ago.
A couple of weeks ago one of my lobophyllia started to have tissue recede. I think I left it on its flesh in contact with sand for too long before I noticed it tipped over as badly as it was. That definitely is tissue recession.
Is this what receding tissue looks like for pectinia? Or is it growing? Or is it something else?
Thanks in advance,
