Ok so I think pectinia are pretty freaking cool and want to add one to my tank, well actually I want to add two. Does anyone have any experience with having two near each other. I know of the sweeper tentacles and the damage they do to other coral but if I put two near each other will they sting and kill each other or will they grow together and get along? Thanks in advance for any help.

I googled images of Pectinia, there were images of this coral next to other Pectinia and they looked fine. Also found this image, not my image.

Dang that is some serious real estate coverage. I have been wanting one for years though.

I have 2 Pectina but they are not near each other due to them having different light requirements, my rainbow likes low indirect light and my space invader likes high indirect light. Most corals of the same species are ok to touch so I would assume these would be ok as well. You could place them close and keep an eye on them.

Love this coral! Never seen sweepers like the picture above. Gets along well but he’s the only one in the tank. I’m guessing they would fight.

Tahoe-Good idea, I never thought to browse through pictures and look for pics of multiple coral near each other. Thanks. I figured they would be okay near each other but I wanted some kind of confirmation. The sweepers in that pic are crazy. Hopefully they won't need that much room but I can accommodate them if I need to.

Friday-those are the two types I was looking at or the CB Ultimate Space Invader. The store near me has his Space Invader under a partially filled frag rack, so I imagine it can also take lower light (not real low) if I do go with that one and place them near each other lower in my tank.

Fourstars-yours has a great shape

My space invader has much longer sweepers out more often than my rainbow. It’s on a frag rack with other corals as well but the way the water flow is in that area it keeps the sweepers away from the others. Usually the sweepers come out as the lights start ramping down and through the night. They also will come out during feeding. Space invader also at least in my tank is growing much faster than my rainbow. You can try lower light. If it’s not staying puffed up and starts looking kinda bony then you’ll need to move it.
