Awesome build, I think with peninsula style tank you gotta go closed loop! Gonna look awesome and no ugly power heads in a way.
Just make sure to drill tank for schedule 80 bulkheads :)
Can’t wait to see this tank when it’s fully setup.

I’m wondering what pumps are you planning to use?
With the limited space under the tank I'm thinking 3 or 4 dc pumps if I do closed loop. Which I'm thinking I will do.

I was thinking 3 to 4 DC pumps since I'm limited on space

Another peninsula closed loop, I LOVE IT!! though it's slightly bigger than mine:p Definately following along with this one, are you planning on installing a bar ledge along the kitchen side of the tank? Looks like you have enough room for one and it would make for some great viewing opportunities:)

It's still up for debate

Thanks, my wife wanted a big "window" to view thru. Looks like I'm going to need the snorkel to get to the bottom.

Got the budget for the reef tank but your drinking doctor thunder. Is everything ok? Lol
Lol yea it was that or drink my own urine to get a big tank. We had our sons birthday here and it was left here by one of the moms. We are on Georgia, it's all about Mountain Dew here. Or sweet tea.

What's everyone's thoughts on drilling this tank for closed loop

I think it is a perfect solution as power heads on any of the three viewing sides are less than ideal. I also use a “closed loop” on my return as described by Calfo.
