Hi Folks,

the pH in my 90g SPS tank is 7.9 at night and 8.0 in the day. After dosing vibrant, it drops to 7.8 for several days (I assume for the vinegar and pseudo carbon-dosing that is vibrant) . I understand 8.0 is pretty decent, coral growth is excellent- i'm wondering is it worth trying to raise the pH to 8.1-8.2 via Co2 scrubber or running a hose of fresh air to my skimmer?
Or should I leave well enough alone?

Any input is much appreciated!

Don’t chase PH my man. If your corals are looking good and growing good. Leave the PH alone.
ThING is- some coral are at about 60% in PE and coloration. I shouldn't attribute this to pH it sounds... the dragon is ever elusive indeed

I'm not grand coral wizard, but I do not think that you will get a 40% increase in PE/Color if you raise your PH.

If you have reason to dose vibrant or any other miracle-in-a-bottle type of thing, this this reason (whatever it is) is likely what is causing any kind of slow growth poor coloration. pH from 7.9 to 8.0 is perfectly fine and better than most people who have a lot of success - this is not likely your issue at all.

I can back Jose, on this one... just keep alk stable and don't chase pH.

I got a apex where I can monitor certain expects of the tank. like ph and a camera. and to put my skimmer on it and since I have the smart skimmer if the cup hits a certain point of being filled it turns off. but beeps until I empty the cup and reset the plugin. with the apex if I get a call from the fiancé then I can turn the plug off and cut the power to it.

Don't worry about ph too much. Most of us have ph from 7.7-8.4 and most are around 7.8-8.1 myself included. Worry about keeping alk stable and ph will stay in range.
