Which Hydra should I go with whenever I decide to purchase lighting for my 120 gallon reef tank, should I go with the hydra 26 or 52? And also how many units of the 26 or 52 depending on which one it is, I don't want excess light to be blasting the room it's in or anything lol, my tanks 60 inches long, 18 inches wide and 26 inches tall. Thanks for any help! Trying to plan this right

Red Sea reefer 525xl. 59 long by 23 by 24 I think. I'm ok with the coverage front to back but wish I had more length wise.

4 would be fine for coverag but I feel like 5 would eliminate 100% of the hot spots if you hang them via cable and stager them 3 forward 2 back

Are you referring to 5 of the 26's or 52's because I was thinking on getting 2 of the 52's

That's depends if you're going for a sps tank. 4 units would be good but with the 26 you won't get that great of a front to back coverage. You will get shadowing. 3 Hydra 26 would work good if you're going to supplement with T5. IMO Maxspect Ethereals have more even spread with much less hot spot down the middle.

I was referring to the 26's. I still think 3 hydra 52s won't give you good enough spread for an sps tank. It could work but I would prefer 4-5 26's

I just put 2 52s on a 48x24 if I was you I think I would get 2 52s and ceiling mount them so they are in the middle lengthwise. Be advised they are very bright.
