Yea each coral has its own color in the polyps. Brown corals polyps can turn brown too so just give them time and see what they eventually turn out as. The only time a coral will change color in the polyps is if it is grafted into another coral and that section is cut out to grow on its own. But even then the new color can change back to the original corals color over time. Its more rare to find a grafted coral that keeps its grafted color over a long period of time and through multiple generations of fragments. Green fluorescent pigments are the most common graft and the most common to fade out over time as well.
I recently picked up a piece of copps bella acro that had grafted with a different coral. I am really curious as to how it will look grown out. Its going to be a while though...
