You could dragons breath or come type of calcified algae like codium or halemedia. They grow slower than most and look cool.

Easy for you to get some halamedia also. Anywhere where there is rocky outcrops that are exposed or easy accessible at low tide, you can find it.
I still haven't made it out to start collecting, too much house stuff nonstop. Hoping once this tattoo heals I can actually set a day off aside to get out there. I, of course, had to get one on my shin so even shallow water risks saturating it.

This kind of cracks me up.

Good to see the good with the bad .

NO3 is 45
PO4 is .2. ......

So that's where my display tank NORMALLY sits..... I think my algae maker is broken..
That's how the cade is as well, lots of grazers & I assume the corals contribute as well.

YOu should spot and make the hubby go grab it lol.

Just be sure to get under it and make sure to get the holdfast. You can pry it off easily and makes it easy to place it also.

So, just realized I have 438 gallons of water made. Being as I do and it just tested perfect for matching all but the nutrients, I am now going to write a program for a 400 gallon water change lol.

Pump water out and pump it back in. Easy enough. Funny thing will be it will not strip it to 0 doing that. I will test along the way and stop the WC program once I get to or close the numbers I want lol.

Will start that after I clean the rocks and vacuum the sand.

It has begun.

I started to pull some GHA off and realized it has almost no hold onto the rocks.

Solution

Gyre 4k turned to 100% just at water surface, so it snags a bit of air. Simplicity dc3200 turned up to 100% also.

Crap is just flying off the rocks lol. I have a filter sock from way back in the day that is now full and another one almost there.

Think I may just stir the sand to get the detritus up into the water and catch it via a 5g bucket full of floss and sitting in the sump.

Whats funny, if the SPS in the nem tank is crazy PE right now, but it is a tad cloudy. Nothing seems affected so far.

High tide with a east wind on the east coast of Florida lol.

Your rednekid engineering never ceases to amaze me.
Redneck will be the below.

Bucket with 1" holes drilled all in it, hung over sump with pvc pipe, full of polyfill and then vacuum sand with water going into it.

Phase 1 done.

All rocks clean, all gorgs clean, sand has been vacuumed and almost 100 gallons of water changed.

I am now going to change about 6 gallons an hour and go to bed lol. Also going to pray the 2 DOS do not die lol. I am running 2 sets of 2 to do this lol.

Tomorrow is redo rock structure in macro tank, clean out sump and then vacuum sand in nem tank. I also need to redo the frag rack, as the shrooms are going nuts. They will get moved to the sand and the zoas will go on a smaller rack.

Also, have to clean up fish barn after this. That will suck, as it is a mess lol.

actually using an Apex EL to do the changes. And have alerts setup for the float switches if they hood a position for too long or the “high” switch hits. Basically AWC, but a lot of water lol.

Macro tank is 100% done for now. On to the nem tank.
All macro is sorted and most placed in the tank. I will stick about 20 gallons of graciliria in the 180 and put some here/there in the other tanks.

Goal for nem tank is to get all the shrooms and zoas redone and vacuum sand. Possibly move some Florida zoas over to the macro tank.

So far no3 is down to 20 or so and po4 is .12. Not much left to get it where I want.

Here’s some pic to hold y’all over. Looks like a real ocean tide line to me.

Anemone tank cleaned. Now water needs to clear up and it can do that while the fish barn gets cleaned up. Also need to clean acrylic. Polish is next weekend

New params. 12 no3 and .08 po4. Almost there. May just drain sump and refill to get there quicker lol. Advantages of stock tank with a drain lol.

AWC program is all complete.

NO3 ~8 and po4 .03. Only dosing ammonia and will monitor Alk/Cal for a few days to see how to adjust it. Consumption should not go up too much, but I do have a ton more calcified algae, so who knows lol.

Everything is looking good. Zoas and shrooms are opened up after dips and cleaning of GHA from plugs. Gorgs are back open. Nems look happy and upside down jellies are jelly. Even the oyster is open and doing its thing.

Now for a photo dump. Close up gorg pics are for @najer, so no licking those lol.
