Just brought home this clown goby today and didn’t notice these subtle white spots on him until after I dropped him in the DT

Quickly re set up the QT and now he’s in there.

Just curious if it looks like white spot or potentially some sand stuck to him? And if it is ich did those 3 mins in my DT jeopardize my other fish?

Thanks

Im on mobile so its hard to see but to be safe pull in out and put him in qt. I really highly doubt that he would infect the tank with only being in there for 3 minutes

I looked again and it does look like ich. Id pull him out and start treating with copper in a qt tank. If you want to play it safe remove the other fish and treat them as well because while it is doubtful it spread all it takes is one ich parasite to drop to spread to your other fish

It does look ich-ish. One way to tell is that ich will stay in place for about 4-7 days. If they're all gone tomorrow, might have been sand. If they're still there after a week, might be Lymphocystis. Yes, there's a chance (not gigantic, but real) that your other fish may now be exposed. If a protomont fell off of the goby during the three minutes, it'll settle to the bottom, encyst, and in anywhere from a couple of weeks to 72 days from now, hatch out dozens of theront hunters.

But ... it had to have chosen those three minutes to drop off.

Keep a watch.
