noticed this lobo coralhas been having some issues notice some white buildup on the side look like worms. Took the coral out and decided to dip it today in a revive and iodine dip. Then I noticed these white worms looking things were coming out like crazy. Was wondering if anyone had any more information on what these are and how big of an issue is it for my reef tank? Also, any information on Treatment. If you look on the sonde of the lobo you can see the white looking warms that came out when i dipped. I have a 55 gallon reef tank with tons of other corals.

Looks like those are its mesenterial filaments (part of the coral’s anatomy for digestion and aggression). Not a parasite.

I’d recommend doing a little research on some other forums that share this topic or just online in general. Definitely double check your light/parameters and to let it settle in the tank, it looks stressed due the visible skeleton around the edges. Hope this helps!

Dipping can be a gamble for upset corals, depending on the issue. Slow change is smooth and smooth leads to safe recovery.
