Problem with my Fromia Indica

Hi guys, I noticed this “wound” in my Fromia, she has been in my tank for a while now, 5 months, always been in healthy and active. Yesterday i’m sure it wasn’t there, what can this be? Thanks everyone

These are quite delicate specimens and can challenge even the most experienced hobbyist. When I see this , its often due to high nitrates and /or Phosphates, starvation and picked on by tankmate especially a shrimp

Po4 are ~0.04mg/l and no3 is 10mg/l… (tested now) so i don’t think they are the problem… it could be starvation but I also spot feed her or my lysmata debellius/RBTA/hermit crab pinched her… this 2 things are possibile, you think she could recover?

Hate to say, but rarely do I see recovery when flesh is like this , However if it would lose leg, they can regrow it as long as other legs dont follow with same issue

Hope she will recover, the other legs look fine and “full”.. i’ll keep an eye on her the next days to come and see, thanks a lot

Starfish around the world have been affected by a virus- No clue whether this is the issue - but I've had the same problem. They look great for a year - and then die. I'm sorry not to have new things to recommend - but the starfish that I have had over the years - have never needed target feeding. Could it be that your tank is somewhat immature for a star?
