Okay - that is a problem....

You see your Laptop is on
192.168.0.xxx network

Your P4 is in
102.168.1.xxx network

So Now @KStatefan's question comes into play. Did you TYPE that 192.168.1.200 address in the P4 settings or did it just appear there?

Can you click the advanced button on the wifi screen (on the mac) then the TCP/IP tab and tell me what the "Subnet Mask" is as well as the "router" address?

Also did verizon set all of this up... or did a friend or geeksquad or something?

Could it be that the 192.168.1.200 is an IP assigned from a previous attempt at setting up the controller?

Or from an android? My first attempts were with an android windows tablet

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Okay - before we do anything else.
Let's get back on HotSpot
Connect to 192.168.4.1
Then go to network settings.

I assume you click the gear beside the Verizon network in the P4
Take a screenshot of that screen. I want to see all of the actual settings.

Can somebody here with a P4 show him screenshots (I do not have one) of static/dhcp settings area?

We want to make sure the device is set for DHCP or "Obtain IP address automatically"

We then want to disconnect it from the verizon network and try to reconnect.

Ok... I can probably look at the set up video again. I think you can see those settings as the video plays. But first I will get back on the hotspot

Okay - that is the problem.
Slide the little slider there where it says "Obtain an IP address Automatically" to ON
It should be blue.

Save the settings.

Wait a minutes (we will reboot if we need to later)

Then tell me what the NEW IP address is on the main network screen!

Correct - it should now also be communicating with myghl

Your mistake (understandable) was giving it the address you saw in the video and not letting YOUR network assign one to it. It was on your Wifi but could not talk to the outside world because the network settings were not correct.

Unreal. There’s so much on the videos that aren’t addressed, and for someone like me, I don’t know what to do unless explicitly told…with computer networks at least

I went to the app and deleted the profilux with the wrong IP, added it back, and corrected the IP and now I’m seeing the dashboard on the app and the web. All good so far!

I can’t thank you enough for taking time away from your evening to help me. Much appreciated. I hope I can pay it forward

Lasse the Swiss mister!
