Hey
Has anyone had a problem with a non reef safe purple tang?
Mine isn't,I bought a really nice zoa frag from a member here and it looked like polyps were melting away and dissapering, guess what my purple tang has been eating them I just caught him RIPPING them right off the mount and when I chased him away from the zoos he then decieded to desrtoy a tableing acro.

Rogue.....I have heard of nipping at zoas but this is the first I have heard of tearing up zoas and then being nasty towards sps.

Thump it.

Do you have a seaweed clip for him to munch on? I have a Hippo that likes to nip zoas, so I looked for info about it and I read a lot of stories about Purples munching corals, too. I have to make sure there is a seaweed clip all of the time and my Hippo will leave my zoas alone.

I've had several tangs that eat zoanthids.
Not nip, but eat.
2 different hippo tangs and 2 different purple tangs.

The most maddening thing is, they all only went after the nice stuff. RPE's, eagle eyes, etc.
They haven't touched the common green/brown button polys.
