Ok i have had my QT running no issues for almost 8 weeks. For some reason i had a little ammonia yesterday and added prime. Today the tank is so cloudy i can hardly see my fish. Do you think prime is the issue just tested 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites.

IMO you must have had more Am than your test read to get that kind of bacterial bloom.
I havent had that happen w prime before.

I last dosed my 2nd dose of prazipro 8 days ago without a water change after. I figured prazipro left the water after a few days.

It tested 0 with a redsea test kit and an API so unless both were wrong and if they were i'd be really weary that test kits even work.

Praziquantel dissipates after about 72 hrs, but Oxybispropanol (the solubilizing agent found in Prazipro) remains active for quite a bit longer. Unless you do WCs/run carbon to pull it out. And it can interact negatively with other meds & chemicals, usually causing a bacterial bloom.

Do you think this bloom should be of concern. I read a water change could make the bloom worse. The fish seems to be fine. I fed just to make sure he was still eating and he is. I just can hardly see him unless he comes right up to the front of the tank. Not sure what i should do to remedy this.

interesting Thanks Humblefish! I wonder if it has something the bacteria find tasty in it.

Sometimes a bacterial bloom just causes cloudy water; other times it starves O2 out of the water and that can suffocate your fish to death. Best bet is to do a large WC/run carbon ASAP. Or remove the fish to another tank for the time being.

Making water now for water change. As for O2 i have one of those powerheads that have the tube to add air so i have that creating some mega micro bubbles right now.

Ok just did a 50% WC and added carbon. It made it clearer but still cloudy. I guess will see how it is after 24 hours.

Are the fish breathing heavily at all? That is how you can tell a bacterial bloom in a QT is serious.

Any redness or signs of visible damage around the gill area?

No redness and no visible damage is noticed. Maybe this bloom just made him act irregular. He seems fine breathing normal with both gills, eating and seems happy. Water is still a little cloudy even after a 50% WC.
