Wow thanks for all the welcomes and replies. Now that I really think about it, i wouldnt want my home grown corals spreading unwanted nasties in the ocean. Very good point. Thanks to all who pointed that out:). I would love to try growing corals at home. The only " corals" i ever tried growing were the pipe cleaners with borax 😅

Hello everyone. I just finished watching the documentary on building reefs. I wonder is it possible to grow the coral at home but then ALSO, hand it over to who is responsible for rebuilding the reefs in our oceans? Like grow it at home to rebuild the coral reefs. Anyone know if this is possible, or if the coral would just end up dying because of the change.
Welcome to the forums.

Welcome. Growing corals is one of the goals of many reefing hobbyists. I'm not sure we can repopulate the ocean's reefs. However, we can provide a renewable source of corals to satisfy demand so that reefs aren't impacted by the hobby.
