Hello I’ve been reefing for years.i was wondering what it is that gets all over your rocks and equipment that makes them sharp and pokey when brushed up or handled? Is it an animal or just plain calcium

Welcome, glad you are here! If the vermatid id is correct, throw the appropriate amount of bumblebee snails in and they will happily munch on all of them.

Any number of things can fit this description when considering truly live and healthy rock. For example: tube worms, crustose/ calciferous algae, spirobid worms, calcium deposits, the rock itself, etc...
