Hi so I'm growing two Mangroves in my sump. I have raised the light twice. How far should the light be above the Mangroves? How tall will these get? So they are
about 12" below the light. And they have grown so the light was farther away. I wonder of I should raise the light like a foot.

They will grow very tall if healthy and happy but it take a long time. Can depend on how and what its planted in also. Root just hanging in the water it will grow slower. Planted in a nutrient rich substrate it will grow faster.
I was looking through my pics to see if I could find one of the one at my lfs. It was around 10 years old and it was about 6' tall, I must have deleted it. I had mine for I think 3 years and they were about 2' tall.

Wish I could help! @Fish Styx is your guy. I'll go summon him. May take me a while to get the ritual circle set up.

My tallest are 5'. Keep the lights high enough above them to ensure a good spread over their top leaves, and not so close that they are burned. You can either keep raising the lighting to accommodate growth, or trim their growth tips to encourage a dwarf, but fuller look.

Happy reefing.

I raised the lights again. Is there a way to enrich the substrate that they are growing in? Its in my refugium. I have maybe 5-6" of substrate in a small storage container.

Define "enrich", and what you are seeking to gain from doing so.

I would not worry about it. I mean are you trying to have a reef tank or grow mangroves? If you want a reef tank with mangroves just worry about taking care of the reef properly and the mangroves will help a bit to use some of the available nutrients. If you want a mangrove display there are fertilizers you can add to the substrate, but I would not use these while trying to have a healthy reef. The mangroves will grow in typical reef tank parameters, its just not going to be "fast". I know Julian Sprung has some great info on mangroves mostly in books but I know I have seen a few videos too. And of course, whatever @Fish Styx has to offer on the subject is golden as well.
