Just went to worldwide Coral today in Orlando, picked up a yellow coris wrasse and a convict tang so far the tang seems to be doing great the yellow wrasse disappeared. The second I put it into the tank. I’m assuming it’s in the sand. Should I have any concern to how long it should be under the sand I don’t really know first time dealing with the fish that hides in the sand if you guys have any advice, let me know. I’m excited and nervous, any advice is great. Would love to learn.please and thank you.

Yes, they typically do this and you should see it in the morning. First day or two. dim the whites a little as wrasse settles in

Nah should be fine, sand wrasses do that. Give it about a week or so, its not unusual for them to do that. My melenarus wrasse went into the sand and I didnt see him for like 2 weeks and assumed he was dead until he popped up one day just fine. Gemma, My red coris wrasse disappears in the sand at night to sleep. Normal

You don’t have to, but do you have a picture of your tank? I’ve been on and off this form for quite a few years. I like getting your advice. I was curious what type of fish do you have?

Do you end up seeing it swimming around on a day-to-day basis during the day?
Yes, Gemma is very active. She loves people and always does a dance when I come up to the tank. Shes BFFs with my sohal tang and they swim around together!
