Any rumors when the Radion G7 are expected to come out? It seems like the G6 should be nearing end of life. BRS is out of stock on all models of G6's.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a G7. Chinese have copied the Radion and the idea to keep rolling out the same form factor with updated tech seems like something they wouldn't be interested in pursuing.

Not to say they won't come out with another Ecotech light, but I'd be surprised if it is a Radion.

All the more reason for Ecotech to come out with something new!

If it isn't broke no need to fix it. Also it may be a good time for them to assess internally what the product line up looks like post merger and acquisition(s). There is product overlap and some of that as impacted the Neptune product lineup. Wav and SKYs for example.

Also as @Sisterlimonpot noted above this hobby is ripe with knockoffs at the moment so that may play a significant role. No need to go into the Trade discussion but all of these things factor into their product decisions. I do not know their release cadence but if it is 2 to 4 years between new models previously I'm not sure I would assume it will be the same this time.

Honestly my G4 Pros are growing corals like weeds so not sure why would I ever want a G7… except to brag to my neighbor Bob that he still got a G3? lol

Not to over generalize here but there are posts around the web that support the G4's prowess. Not too difficult to find. Even WWC will mention it from time to time.

If I was in their shoes, and I'm not, I will look at the overall market saturation and see how a new product would fit in. Can I create a product that that is priced reasonably, allow me to put money away for the company, and pay a reasonable salary to my employees. A challenge for sure...

Ecotech is a victim of their own success. I’m super happy with my old lights. It doesn’t make sense to me, personally. For example, I have 3xG4 Pros on the frag tank, only running at 55%. Anything higher and I’ll be burning corals! So why would I pay $1000 EACH for a G6 (forget about G7)? That will be ~$3400 total (inc tax & shipping) to replace my current setup. I doubt that a new light system will grow corals better. You got to factor in flow, water chemistry, stability, nutrients, etc. Lighting is important but just part of the equation.

So yes — it’s a very saturated market and Radion isn’t the only game in town. There are cheaper and better(?) alternatives.
