I would be shocked to see a G7 at this point and if we do, it will be more G5/6 than G4 if I had to guess.

Maybe more towards the Straton with a larger panel?
I would be shocked as well, judging from what I've heard about the gutting of the organization.
If anything happens, maybe an improvement with fan/heatsink and the app.

I’d like to hear more - do you mean aperture or ecotech?

I love industry gossip

Just what has been mentioned on several threads on R2R.
I have no insider information.
Then the complete radio silence from anyone at etm or anyone.

Just casually dropping a tank of the month over here where you've got acros doing extremely well and a candycane over there also crushing it.

That isn't always easy to balance because of the difference in lighting requirements

Haha, thank! but I'm still working on it. As for zinc and iron, and raising the PO4 a bit since the aquarium has low light and low PO4, which means it's not running at 100% capacity.

That's what I'm hoping for, a larger display or one that's a step away from the G5 and G6 models. If not, I'll go with ATI or Illumagic at this point...

Having Straton Xs now, I'd never go back to smaller panels, but I'd love to see Ecotech or AI take on the panel style.

I have the sneaky suspicion we're going to see some industry contractions though, and not all of the companies are going to make it.

My understanding is that the Hydra Edge lights aren't selling well at all, and the rest of AIs recent offerings are just white labels (well, neros and orbits are - blades I think are their own)

Blades are AI designed and built. The Orbits use Maxspect's patent. I am pretty sure the Nero is AI built. They aren't just relabeling someone else's product at least

You may be right - I'm going off this thread here talking about the stray voltage issue on Nero pumps, and the common flaw where the cord meets the pump which AI support confirmed for me as well

@slingfox

The Nero’s are based on a Chinese powerhead design. AI white labeled those powerheads, had them manufactured in a new color scheme and built a nicer app interface than the Chinese models. The guts of the powerhead are the same as the cheaper Chinese counterpart you can buy from AliExpress. If you are okay with a different app you can replace them with the China-branded models.

I don't understand the zap and stray voltage of the Nero line.

They're low voltage BLDC motors. Even if there were stray voltage, it wouldn't present itself as a zap. Maybe a tingle... but that's far fetched as well. I think something else is providing the leak and these are getting the blame.

I tested it in my 40g breeder QT tank

Felt a tingle/zap on the tip of my finger where I had a little prick

Stood on my chair w/ rubber wheels and it went away. Went back on the ground and it was zinging again.

Went away and came back as I plugged and unplugged the Nero 3 in. Pretty simple trial and error - I don't know the mechanisms that would cause this, though. It's been a while since I had Physics II

Edit: maybe zap is too extreme, but it's definitely an irritating tingle
