I have four gen1 radions with tir lens at 12" above my 312 gallon reef tank that is 20" deep. I also have a 350w kessil tuna blue in the center of the radions. I have been running the natural mode for the last 8 months and am getting great SPS growth, but not as much color pop as i would like. The radions are set to 80% brightness and i have been thinking about going up some more or should i change and go artificial and set the lights to 20k setting. The corals have good colors and look like they should, but the colors just dont have that bright pop that i see under tanks with more blue. So im wondering if i do go to the 20k setting would that have a potential to cause any issues?

Here is pic of the tank as it looks with current setting

As an example here is a frag of twilight dragon, it should have a much deeper purple base with brighter tips, so im thinking its a color spectrum thing. Took a frag to a friends house and it has much deeper colors under his t-5 setup

I would slowly boost up to 20K but ensure that the overall light coming down doesn't spike, so if you're just turning the bulb up higher but the white stays the same, then you might run into problems. So as you increase the blue, lower the white.

That's the problem with natural mode, you can't tell what the spectrum is. I have never tried it however. Does the schedule seem like a lot of white light throughout the day? If it is at a 12k kelvin temp your growth will be good but colors may be a bit washed out.
