About to pull the trigger on a waterbox 100.3 (36"x24"x22") and thinking about how many radions and which sizes. For an SPS dominant tank am I correct in thinking I'll need 3x XR15s? I think 4 is overkill but 3 spaced out might solve any shadowing I have in the future. I could also go 2x XR30 but that's a lot of light for a 3 foot tank.

I would say go with 3 xr15’s you can play around with the placement if you have to.

I think the 2 XR30 mounter perpendicular might be better in the long run because they will light more of the deeper depth to that tank (front to back). 3 XR15s will certainly do the job at first, but when the SPS colonies get thick with branches there will be more shadowing compared to 2 XR30 mounted perpendicular since the XR15s are narrower.

If it were me, I would maybe go 2 or 3 XR15s and introduce T5s now, or when the growth gets thicker.

I have a 36" tank. I use 2 Radion XR30's which are ideal for SPS.

Two 15s. Once the sticks start growing in add two more.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
